A new era for the Brazilians starts as the 2020/21 season kicks off on the 18th of October for Mamelodi Sundowns as they take on Bloemfontein Celtic in the MTN 8 quarter-finals at home.
The top 8 tournament was founded in 1972 with BP as the inaugural sponsor. Over the years it has seen many sponsors exchanged and currently, MTN is on board and has been around since 2008, a year later, Masandawana won the trophy.
The Brazilians have won this competition on three occasions in 1988,1990 and 2007. With the changes made in the technical team and the new signings, Masandawana will go out and make sure that they bring home the first major trophy that is at stake this season, a trophy that has eluded Mamelodi Sundowns for the last thirteen years.
The match takes place at Lucas Moripe Stadium at 18:00.
We will wait and see, Celtics is a team that plays football, be it a cup game or league. They play beautiful football. It’s going to be a thriller.
Hope this time we will win this cup which eluded us for years but if not let us not put pressure on our players and the technical team because they brought us threble last season.
I believe In MNQITHI but I hesitate uRulani he wants to be a hero, we must not forget that Micho left Orlando pirates unexpectedly to give him the opportunity that he blew it. RULANI I hope he learnt a lesson to be humble and work with others
