Khunjulwa Mali and Lerato Kgasago speak ahead of the TS Galaxy Queens fixture

Fresh off their morale-boosting 1-0 victory over the University of Johannesburg (UJ) Ladies, Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies are set to continue their impressive run of form in the Hollywoodbets Super League season with a home clash against TS Galaxy Queens.

Reflecting on the team’s stellar performance last time out, Khunjulwa Mali expressed her delight at the unity and determination showcased by the team.

“It was a much-needed victory to uplift our spirits. Coming back from two defeats in the United States and then collecting 3 points lifted us. Now we feel more confident, the team’s mood is high and we are happy. Every game is an opportunity to prove ourselves and we are determined to keep pushing and improving with each match.”

Ahead of the clash against TS Galaxy Queens, Mali emphasized the importance of not underestimating their opponents. “We know they are going to bring their best game, just like we will. It is not going to be an easy match, but we are confident we can win it. Playing at home gives us an extra boost and we intend to use that to our advantage. Every player knows their role and we are all committed to executing our game plan effectively.”

When both teams met earlier this season, Sundowns Ladies prevailed 5-3 in a high-scoring encounter. Reflecting on that match, Lerato Kgasago believes the team is highly motivated to give their all yet again.

“The entire squad is focused and eager to replicate that performance, if not improve on it. We have learned from our past experiences and we are coming into this match with even more determination. Every player is ready to contribute, whether it’s in creating chances, scoring goals, or defending as a unit. We are not just aiming for a win; we are looking to make a statement and solidify our position at the top of the league.”

Kgasago also praised the team’s resilience in their recent match, stating, “Last weekend’s win was just as important as any other game. I would not compare it to our experience in the United States since they are two completely different competitions. But winning away from home always feels good. Securing all 3 points is crucial, regardless of who the opponents are. It was a tough game, but I am glad we came out on top.”

The match between Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies and TS Galaxy Queens is scheduled to take place on Saturday, August 31st, at the Lucas Moripe Stadium, with kick-off set for 13h00.
