Mamelodi Sundowns duo ready for COSAFA bragging rights

Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies team players Andile Dlamini and Karabo Dhlamini will be turning out for Banyana Banyana in the COSAFA Cup final today against Botswana. The national side will be eager to wrap up this 2020 edition in style and defend their title and also stamp their authority as one of the sides that has won the Cup six times.

“Sticks” plays for our ladies team and stated that “It is always an honour to represent my country when I go out there. I make sure I do it with pride because there are a lot of people out there who want to be in my shoes. We have worked so hard to be in the final, the coaches and my teammates we all have done our part, we are just going out there to make sure we win the trophy”.

“Winning the trophy would mean a lot, because now all the hard work we put in during the lockdown would be paying off. A dream come true for any South African to lift a trophy whilst representing your country”.

Also part of the Banyana squad from Mamelodi Sundowns is Karabo Dlamini who plays as a striker.

“The tournament has not been easy, our group had more teams than the other groups but we had to prepare and make sure when we go out there and we put in a lot of hard work”.

Dlamini also found the back of the net during the second game of the tournament in the clash against Angola.

“I was so excited for the goal I scored against Angola as you know in football the more you score the better the chances of winning. It shows that I am on top of my game as I came in as a sub and scored. The final, it would mean a lot for us as most of us are youngsters and it is our first time playing the senior COSAFA Cup and we must keep the winning momentum”.

The game takes place at Nelson Mandela Stadium at 15:30 and will be broadcasted on SABC
