Mamelodi Sundowns are set to play their final Betway Premiership fixture of the season on Tuesday night. They travelled to Mpumalanga to meet TS Galaxy for a midweek fixture set to play at the Mbombela Stadium.
Masandawana come from the back of 7-4 victory against Siwelele FC in their final home game in the league. Their TS Galaxy counterparts, on the other hand, come from a 1-1 draw, having last won a league match in January. This fact, however, will not see the Brazilians resting in their laurels.
In what can be dubbed as the tightest league contention this season, the Pretoria -based side will need to win against TS Galaxy. Looking ahead of the fixture, goalkeeper, Denis Onyango stated that the team is ready.
“The boys are nice and ready for our last league game that plays on Tuesday. We are all geared up and ready to fight until the last whistle,” he said.
“Every game counts for the Club, regardless of how difficult it is. We have to give our best – every game is a final. We have to finish the season on a high, regardless of how things are in the league.”
Bafana Ba Style will look to conclude the domestic season on a high note before hopping to Champions League duties where they will be playing in another final.

My last comment this season,on Sunday against Siwelele FC WE were ruthless no more slowly build ups, no more side ways play and sense of urgency was there,this is what we the veterans of Downs we always says score as many games as possible because we saw Pirates is adopting that because they knew inorder to dethrone us goal difference will be the key,to me it’s late now we should have done that from onset but we took things for granted where our goalkeeper was busy juggling the ball together with his defence.
Now the league is for Pirates to loose hope we learnt the lesson the hard way next season we will prioritise goals than high percentage of possession.
Even on Champs League since the away goal rule is still existing let’s score as many goals as possible at home,lastly Williams need a good competitor next season and some players must be released for good and sign some plenty of good youngsters,Kby forever.
Arthur Sales is becoming a big liability. What has Katlego Ntsabeleng done to this coach to deserve this kind of hatred. Sometimes I feel like wishing this team not to win anything so that this coach can leave us in peace, him an that TD. Sales just came back from injury and went straight to the starting eleven. Against Siwelele he was running like a pregnant woman, and he gets rewarded in this game.
Another factor that cause us to lost is the ill discipline of our players,Modiba got a red card in Champs league and Adams and Kekana, Mudau all got unnecessary bookings and I wonder what our Management and Technical staff are doing about that and it will also cost us again on Sunday.
Lastly I don’t remember Downs winning at Mbombela bu I stand to be corrected and I fully agree with Dalom that Sales shouldn’t have started the games ahead of others since he came from injury.
Sundowns plays very amateurish these days , it has been very easy to score against Sundowns this season, so many draws, losses, etc hence it is looking impossible that we will retain our title this season.I think Fleming and Cardoso must play the champions league and go whether they win it or not because they have no tactics, they must also go with all their average foreign players except for Brayan Leon.If we keep them next season we wont finish in the top 8.We missed an opportunity to win the league 10 times in a row because we were only left with two more but Cardoso failed. We lost all the cups under Cardoso and to top it we even lost in the first round in one of the cups with this coach.Masandawana let us all come support the team this weekend for the sake of the club and players, because this club does not belong to the coach and we need that star , therefore our support to the team is critically important.
Count me out, I’m not coming. I stay just 15 minutes drive from Loftus stadium 🏟️. I’ve never been to the stadium 🏟️ ever since Cardoso took over, and I’ll never set my foot there for as long as he’s a coach. Whether he wins the Champions League or not, I’ll never change my stance about him, he’s an imposter, Period. My only hope rests on Leon to win the Champions League. This is exactly how we lost league to Wits because some coaches are cowards and they believe only on eleven players and have their favorite players in the the team.Sales has been playing nonsense even before he got injured yet after injury he was immediately in the team and played bad against Sewelele and come the next game he was in the starting eleven.Williams,Onyango,Lunga,Sales and Modiba would play bad but they are forever in the match day team whereas players like Ntshabeleng would be play well and be benched the following day,even Basadien the last game he played had a good game and since the he doesn’t even make match day squad.Mkhulise played well in the past two games he was introduced but last night he didn’t even make match day squad when you could see that Mokoena and Allende were struggling against Sewelele and continued to struggle last night.Sibiya made mistakes because Williams and Kekana wanted him to play back passes when he is used to playing an offensive football and now he is forever playing in Diski team.Benet Mokoene played good whenever given a chance and he is also not considered for the senior team.What surprises about this coach is that, he is able to tolerate mistakes made by old players who are about to retire but he can’t tolerate mistakes made by young players who are still learning and need his guidance.Many of us said many time that the coach is tactically bankrupt and in the past two games he reverted back to his Cardoso factory setting,in the second half against Sewelele he replaced two of the three life wires in Leon and Mathews and we were only left with Letlhaku as the life wire.Last night he replaced Allende which he was right but instead of introducing a striker he introduces ineffective Reisinho which in my view he must be the first to be released,even Esquivel is way better than him.In the last two games i salute Letlhaku and Leon those two players fought very hard for the team.Letlhaku is a complete player he is just unfortunate to be coached by Cardoso,they boy if talented and has a blistering pace,boy keep it up,i wouldn’t be surprised if he doesn’t make match day squad on the weekend because Cardoso is allergic to players who performs very well.Leon is a warrior whenever he is in the pitch he gives 150% performance,his aggression and fighting spirit is second to non.My advice to management is to release most of old players and refresh the team,their experience count for nothing because we are going to end season empty handed with the so called experienced players,we don’t owe them anything,we payed them handsomely.We are not a retirement village or government we can’t keep players until their retirement age,we need young enthusiastic players.I urge management to go get Mosele from Pirates because when Mokoena is off form we are doomed,i know Khoza loves money he will easily agree .Masandawane we just broken apart because of the absence of Adams and Cupido,the Sundowns we all know and love will never concede 7 goals in two matches under the same keeper.Foods for thoughts,under Cardoso we faced Chiefs four times and failed to beat them.I think Manqoaba has an unfinished business with us we were playing offensive football under him and the plus was that young players were promoted and utilized under him and he was not bullied by players,lazy players were against him because he plays high intensity game.
