During April, Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies enjoyed a perfect run of results as the 2024 edition of the Hollywoodbets Super League entered its second month. The month also marked the return of experienced duo Rhoda Mulaudzi and Lelona Daweti from long-term injuries.
After almost three weeks without match action due to the international break, Banyana Ba Style hit the ground running in their return to the pitch. In the fixture against Lindelani Ladies, Miche Minnies smashed in a hat-trick, with Boitumelo Rabale adding a brace and a strike from Salome Kekana ensuring a comprehensive win over the newly promoted side.
The Tshwane giants then netted five past Richmond United at De Aar Merino Park Stadium, with five different scorers – Asanda Hadebe, Kholosa Biyana, Lebohang Ramalepe, Nthabiseng Majiya and Melinda Kgadiete. Notably, Hadebe’s strike marked her first-ever goal for Masandawana.
The Brazilians capped off April in style with a 5-1 victory over Thunderbirds Ladies, with Andisiwe Mgcoyi (brace), Rhoda Mulaudzi, Regina Mogolola and Malebogo Shawe all finding the net. The match held special significance for Rhoda as it marked her first goal since scoring in the 9-0 win over Coal City Wizards towards the end of the 2022 season.
Up next for Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies is a clash against City Lads on Wednesday, May 1st, at the Groenkloof Stadium, with kick-off scheduled for 11:30.
