Mosimane content with point

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane is content with getting only a point at Bidvest Stadium against Bidvest Wits after playing for over 50 minutes a man down.

Sundowns are still two points behind the leaders, Wits, but they have two games in hand which gives them an advantage in the league race.

“I didn’t come for a point,” Mosimane said. “We thought that we would win. You saw the way we played in the first half before the red card (to Wayne Arendse). We were interested and wanted to win. But under the circumstances, with 10 vs 11, I will take it. I am not happy with the result, but under the circumstances I will take a point. I was very unhappy with the point when we drew against Polokwane City.”

Sundowns’ next match is a clash with Cape Town City at Loftus Versfeld on Wednesday. The games are coming in thick and fast for Sundowns as they catch up with the rest of the pack. Jingles, who has won three league titles with Sundowns, is banking on the team’s experience to help them in the final stretch of the league race.

“This is a Champions League team. Five years in the Champions League,” Mosimane said. “We know this. We have the experience. We go to El Manzah Stadium, Borg-el Arab Stadium and Asec (Mimosas in Abidjan) and we manage the game. We go with it because we’re one man short. And you know they play on crosses. (Sifiso) Hlanti has to cross. Vuyo (Mere) has to cross. (Elias) Pelembe sits on the edge of the line looking for a cross, nothing comes through the middle. So if Ricardo Nascimento does what we he does with Mosa Lebusa and we deal with all the balls that were coming in – we close the sides, the corners and the long throws from Tyson (Thulani Hlatshwayo), we should be okay.”

To tell the truth we are worried about all regularly mistakes by our players. It looks like we opened a competition of Mistakes. To all our Coaches and Players do they know how painful it is. We can sing at the end of the game but deep down it is very painful.

True member, regular common mistakes ,they disturb indeed, we are hopeful that we shall be restored. Towards the end of the season its critical, l hope we have taken our enough share for the season, this season is full of drama . it is better to take your share earlier than on the very last 4 games. Now there is still time for redemption . The race is still long, this year we have not scored 4 goals in one match in the PSL, goals matter so much.
