Mosimane Heaps Praise On His Side

Pitso Mosimane has praised his Mamelodi Sundowns side for their emphatic come-from-behind victory against Bloemfontein Celtic on Saturday night.

The Brazilians fought back from a goal down to win 3-1 and progress to the MTN8 semifinals, where they will now meet Tshwane rivals SuperSport United over two legs.

On beating Celtic, with goals from Themba Zwane, Mosa Lebusa and young Keletso Makgalwa, Mosimane said after the game: “You have to believe as a coach and trust your team. But the surprise for me is that in all the cup games we have played, we don’t come back. This time we did and it was good to see.”

‘Jingles’ said he admired his side for being patient as well.

“As long as we played the goal was going to come. It takes a bit of time. We did well, we controlled the game from the beginning. We just needed a goal, and I knew if we can get one, we can get a second. But the third was a cherry on top,” the coach said.

“We played a difficult and stubborn team that plays on the break, they suck you in so they can go out – same as Chippa United. But I told the boys we should enjoy it when the team plays like this and strive on it. Our rest defence was very good.”

Downs next host Cape Town City at Lucas Moripe Stadium on Tuesday night in an Absa Premiership fixture.

Back to business,I would like to see, players like,JALI,MKHULISE,MAHLAMBI,NGOMA…. given more chances to gain confidence.i blv we are going to need them, this season… they lack confidence because of game time… personally I blv they are good players…plz it’s worth giving a chance to a player like Tokelo Sundowns loose nothing there,he can not be a bad player over night..Hayi kabi,we bought international /Local not so useful players, and pay them well before…he might be a good buy…I don’t see any team that can afford to take a financial risk…on him besides Sundowns… Masadawana what is your opinion on,

I’m with you on Rantie member,he might be the tonic we need.We creat lots of chances but we to convert them,Tokelo is so lethal. On the most disturbing news,Serino,Serino the boy is so useless now,he losses the ball like nobody’s business,he deserves to be in the stands. No player should be given special treatment on the team and supporters’ expense, the boy thinks he has arrived, this is business and he is not adding value.

True I also think tokelo can do the business and please let’s see if lebese can be given a chance as well

  5. This false No 9 is not working for us we need natural striker who will convert the chances we create. Villa and Maboe are playing the same football having them at the same time is just a duplicate and waste. I was impressed by Makgalwa that boy is brave.

True Sundawana’s, thanks for your response,u have the best interest of the team,in ur ?… I’m very SAD on Sirino,I personally blv he is getting unfair favour, and I blv it’s coach Pitso’s responsibility to be wise and protect players..and the ? room…yes I respect Coach but his compatriots should step in,he can’t be always getting it right… Coach recently admitted his decision was not right, hope he has learnt his lesson and trust his coaching team…but they are doing a great job…. BUSINESS OF THE DAY…. it’s about time we teach Benny a lesson for me he is over rated, who is he to disrespect us… maybe this is the reason….stats
P-7 W-4 /….and 3 is won by Sundowns why will he not make noise…. I only had 1problem with my team,we just do know which games to win…my personal list…. Pirates, Chiefs,Cape town City,Chippa, Golden arrows,Amazulu, Supersport,Maritzbug..only 7 team’s left .. winning this games, home and away is winning the me they always have something to say when we loose, personally to our Coach… well the last 7 know’s their story Hayi Kabi… SEVEN PHEZULU…2nite

The system of false 9 is no longer working for us. we need to change and try natural number 9 striker because we are always 1 dimensional. one member mentioned a crucial point of having maboe and villa at the same time. its unnecessary repetition that we end up drawing the games we should easily won. we play too many touches close to the box that we ended up being frustrated. take example of chippa game where we had everything but goals and ball possession which by the way does not win games.
