Onyango joined Mamelodi Sundowns in 2011 and is one of the most decorated footballers in the country. In the 15/16 season Denis was voted the Goalkeeper of the Season. He was also voted the best African-based Player by CAF in 2016. Onyango added to his long list of accolades setting the record of 17 clean sheets in the 2020/21 DStv Premiership as well as scooping up the prestigious Goalkeeper of the Season award.
