Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies delivered a powerful statement in the Tshwane Derby, claiming a comprehensive 4–0 win over TUT Matsatsantsa at the TUT Pretoria Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
This crucial result not only extended their unbeaten streak in the 2025 Hollywoodbets Super League season but also preserved their flawless defensive record—eleven games played, zero goals conceded.
The match, one of the most anticipated fixtures on the calendar, lived up to expectations in terms of intensity. After an action-packed, goalless first half, the Brazilians took full control in the second, with Boitumelo Rabale emerging as the standout performer. She struck twice, in the 64th and 78th minutes, underscoring her status as one of the league’s most clinical finishers.
Just a minute after Rabale opened the scoring, Nonhlanhla Mthandi doubled the lead with a well-placed, thunderous strike. In the closing stages, Nthabiseng Majiya rounded off the performance with a composed finish in the 88th minute to seal an emphatic derby triumph.
Forward Melinda Kgadiete reflected on the match, praising both the opposition and her team’s response.
“The game today was tough because we came up against a very solid team who are second on the table. TUT made it difficult for us to find rhythm early on. But I think we grew into the game, especially in the second half. Our second-half performance was outstanding—we were more decisive, more creative, and showed real intent. I must give credit to the coaching staff; their guidance at halftime was crucial. They helped us settle, reorganize, and focus on our attacking transitions. That support from the bench made a difference and gave us the confidence to dominate.”
One of the day’s big talking points was the inclusion of youngster Katleho Malebana in the starting lineup. The promising midfielder shared her thoughts after helping the team in such a high-pressure fixture.
“We lacked composure in the first half, especially in tight spaces. We rushed a few decisions and did not move the ball the way we knew we could. But we came back stronger after halftime. We calmed down, trusted the game plan, and executed much better. I think we need to believe in ourselves more from the start—this team has so much talent, and when we trust that, the results speak for themselves.”
With another clean sheet secured and four more goals added to their tally, the Brazilians now boast 34 goals in 11 matches while remaining unbeaten so far this campaign.
When it comes to the Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies’ goal-scoring chart this season, Boitumelo Rabale stands tall at the top with an impressive 9 goals. Close behind is Nthabiseng Majiya with 5 goals. Isabella Ludwig, Melinda Kgadiete, and Nonhlanhla Mthandi have each found the net 4 times. Lehlogonolo Mashigo, Refilwe Tholakele, Tiisetso Makhubela, Bambanani Mbane, and Katleho Malebana have all contributed one goal apiece.
