After clinching the Hollywoodbets Super League trophy for the third consecutive year, Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies have dominated the list of nominees for the end-of-the-season awards.
The Brazilians finished the Hollywoodbets Super League season with 27 wins out of 30 games, scoring 126 goals and conceding just 13 times, a joint-best record. Banyana Ba Style also finished with a mammoth goal difference of +113.
Thanks to her steady presence in front of the goal, Sedilame Boseja has been nominated in the Goalkeeper of the Year category. The Botswana senior women’s goalkeeper is up against UWC’s Regirl Ngobeni and Bloemfontein Celtic goalie Katlego Moletsane.
Banyana Ba Style has two representatives in the Player of the Year award category with defender Bambanani Mbane and forward Boitumelo Rabale going up against TUT’s Busisiwe Ndimeni.
In the Coach of the Year category, Sundowns Ladies gaffer Coach Jerry ‘Kappa’ Tshabalala is up against UWC’s Thinasonke Mbuli and TUT’s Lucky Sibiya.
Sundowns Ladies famously swept last season’s Hollywoodbets Super League Awards which was its inaugural edition. Coach Jerry was named the Coach of the Season, Bambanani clinched the Player of the Season while Andisiwe Mgcoyi shared the top scorer award. Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies was also named the Team of the Year.
This year’s awards ceremony will be held at the Sandton Convention Centre on Saturday, 3 December 2022 in Johannesburg.

The nominations are well deserved for all the players and coach. Without being prejudiced i Have a feeling Boitumelo deserves the player of the season. This season she came out of her shell and played a pivotal role in the team with 24 goals scored for a midfielder she is more deserving.
Boseja also was outstanding this season except for the last game where there was confusion between her and the defenders.
