After perfectly cruising through July and August, Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies will aim to start the September round of Hollywoodbets Super League fixtures on a victorious note as they face Royal AM in the latest round of matches.
Since the 1-1 draw in the Tshwane Derby against TUT Ladies at the beginning of June, the Brazilians have won every league match to date and will be looking to secure their 20th win of the campaign on Saturday.
Most impressively, Banyana Ba Style has shown grit and determination in their last two games against fierce competitors TS Galaxy Queens and UJ FC, keeping clean sheets in both matches. This achievement excites young defender Asanda Hadebe, who said, “It is fantastic to see our hard work paying off and I am happy with our winning performances. Keeping clean sheets is evidence of our solid defensive work and team spirit. We are looking forward to maintaining this momentum and continuing to perform at our best in the upcoming fixtures.”
Hadebe also believes the game on Saturday will be another important test. “We feel well-prepared for Saturday’s match. We have consistently addressed mistakes from previous games against tough competitors like Royal AM and I am proud to say that we have seen significant improvement. However, we respect our opponents and understand that anything can happen in football. We will keep this in mind as we approach the game.”
Goalkeeper Sedilame Bosija believes a win on Saturday will bring the team closer to another league title. “We have eight games left and each one is crucial as we push towards the finish line. Securing a win on Saturday will strengthen our position and keep us on track for the title. It has been an incredible journey with many challenges, but the resilience and spirit of the team have been great.”
Sedilame also issued a rallying call to Yellow Nation supporters ahead of the trip to Durban, “We know that our supporters are the heartbeat of our team and their support means everything to us. As we head to Durban, we ask our loyal supporters to come out in full force and cheer us on. We cannot wait to see them on Saturday.”
Sundowns Ladies enjoyed a convincing 4-0 victory in their first meeting of the season. In that match, which was the season opener, Boitumelo Rabale scored twice with a brace, while Andisiwe Mgcoyi and Nthabiseng Majiya also found the net.
The match between Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies and Royal AM is scheduled to take place on Saturday, September 7th, at the Harry Gwala Stadium. The kick-off is set for 15:00.
