Mamelodi Sundowns is deeply saddened to announce the untimely passing of its long serving Communications Manager and staunch supporter, Alex Shakoane.
Alex Shakoane, loved Mamelodi Sundowns immensely and was a loyal servant of football in Mamelodi, Tshwane and the whole of South Africa. He was involved in Sundowns from it’s formative years in the 1970s.
The Chairman of Mamelodi Sundowns, Tlhopie Motsepe said: “The Motsepe family, the Board, the Supporters and all the members of the Mamelodi Sundowns Family mourn and are deeply saddened by the passing of Alex” Goldfinger” Shakoane whom we all loved dearly. Bra Alex’s life was all about Mamelodi Sundowns and we will miss his unique contributions and larger than life personality.”
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Shakoane family, his friends and all Masandawana.

May your soul rest in eternal peace Bra Alex. Your love for Downs was unquestionable. Everytime I met him at Kolonade Mall he would be wearing a Sundowns regalia. A true Dawana at heart.

I couldn’t believe it when I get up earlier today, Mr Gold Finger simply was the Dictionary of Mamelodi Sundowns Family .
