Themba Zwane has been one of the best players to have donned the Mamelodi Sundowns jersey. His journey has been an inspiring one, he joined Masandawana in 2011 from ABC Motsepe side Vardos and worked his way into the starting eleven.
Ten years later “Mshishi” has played close to three hundred games for the Brazilians, the road travelled by the Tembisa born has not been easy but was one he learned his craft and mastered the game. In the 2013//14 season, he went out on loan to Mpumalanga Black Aces ( now known as Cape Town City). He was under the guidance of veteran coach Clive Barker and who at that time described Zwane as the best player that South Africa will ever see and even compared him to Doctor Khumalo.
In the last outing of the DSTV Premiership where Masandawana beat AmaZulu by four goals to three, the Bafana international scored a hat-trick which took his tally to fifty-two for Masandawana and fifty-six for his entire career so far.
