In-form Brazilians in Great Shape Ahead of Copperbelt Ladies Fixture

Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies will be aiming to continue their red-hot run of form in this season’s Hollywoodbets Super League as they next face Copperbelt Ladies.

The Brazilians have been in beast mode all season and have won the last five games on the bounce, scoring 19 goals and conceding just once in that period. Overall, the Tshwane giants have registered 16 wins in 19 games this season.

That run of form has left Miche Minnies excited: “The mood in the camp is very high after our 3-0 victory against the University of Fort Hare. We are training hard for the next match, which will not be easy. Every game is tough because every team wants to win. However, we are focused on getting maximum points, and we will give it our all on the field this Saturday.”

Minnies, who has scored eight goals this season, also believes that the team is determined to win on Saturday, boosting their confidence ahead of the trip to the United States for the Women’s Cup tournament. “We are fully focused on the upcoming match, knowing that a strong performance will set the tone for our journey to the international stage. Our goal is to carry this winning momentum forward and showcase our best in the Women’s Cup.”

Lelona Daweti believes everyone is motivated ahead of what is shaping up to be a busy second half of the season for the Continental Champions. “The team is buzzing with energy and excitement as we prepare for the challenges ahead. We know we have a packed schedule, but everyone is focused and committed to giving their best in every game. Our goal is to maintain our high standards and continue our winning ways, both domestically and internationally.”

Earlier this season, Sundowns Ladies beat Copperbelt Ladies 2-0, courtesy of goals from Lebohang Ramalepe and Nthabiseng Majiya. Daweti anticipates another tough encounter against the Limpopo-based outfit.

“When we played against them at their home ground, they kept a very low block, making it challenging for us to break through their defense. We expect them to be well-organized and determined again, so we will need to be patient and take our chances when they come. It is going to be a tough match, but we are prepared to work hard and secure the win.”

The clash between Sundowns Ladies and Copperbelt Ladies is slated for Saturday, the 3rd of August, at the Lucas Moripe Stadium, with kick-off scheduled for 13:00.
