Masandawana Gear Up for Crucial Group Stage Encounter Against MC Alger

Mamelodi Sundowns are at home this weekend for their final CAF ChampionsLeague group stages match. They are set to face Algerian side, MC Alger, on Saturday afternoon at Loftus Versfeld.

Masandawana are currently third in Group D with six points, and it will be crucial for them to collect all points on offer to advance to the knockout stages. Reflecting on the group stages journey, Downs defender Grant Kekana said small details have interrupted their good run.

“I think throughout the group stages that’s what let us down, the little details in the game. It hasn’t been a big difference, but it affected the results. I think on Saturday there will be a few details we need to focus on and make sure we can apply ourselves correctly,” the Bafana Bafana international stated.

Looking ahead to a crucial encounter against the Algerian side, who sit above the Brazilians on the log as a point separates them, Kekana emphasised the importance of this game.

We are at a period in the season where it is critical for us. We know what’s at stake on Saturday. Throughout the 90 minutes, emotions will be put aside. There will be a Mamelodi Sundowns side that will be trying to get a positive result, and then we will shake hands after the game,” the defender stated.

Mamelodi Sundowns will host MC Alger in the CAF Champions League on Saturday afternoon at Loftus Versfeld. Kick-off has been scheduled for 15H00, live on SuperSport TV and SABC Sports.
