Reyaad entered professional football through the Nike Football Academy after being spotted whilst playing for Bidvest Wits. He later moved abroad and joined Irish side Shamrock Rovers. Pieterse has also featured for the Bafana Bafana Senior national team and is a key figure in the Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeping department.
